Rhizophora mangle is a species of tropical mangrove tree that is adapted to saline water and can grow up to 80 feet (24 meters) tall. It has a distinctive root system called 'stilt roots' that emerge from the trunk and arch downwards into the water, providing support and stability in the soft, muddy soil. The leaves are thick and leathery, and the flowers are small and inconspicuous.
