Hippeastrum vittatum is a bulbous plant species that produces showy, trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of red and white. The flowers are arranged in umbels on top of tall, sturdy stems that rise above the foliage. The leaves are long, narrow, and strap-shaped, and emerge from the base of the plant.
