Beaucarnea recurvata is a slow-growing, evergreen succulent tree that can reach up to 20 feet (6 meters) in height. Ponytail palms prefer bright, indirect light. They can also tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can scorch their leaves.
Ponytail palms prefer low humidity and can tolerate dry air.
Fertilize once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
Prune off any dead or yellowing leaves. Ponytail palms do not require regular pruning.
Common pests include mealybugs, spider mites, and scale insects.

Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Ponytail palms are drought-tolerant and can go several weeks without water.
They thrive in temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) but can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°F (10°C).
