Coyote brush (Baccharis pilularis)

#photocontest This has an interesting story! First, this just showed up in my front yard. A tiny little woody shrub with darkish green leaves. After a couple years it was getting up to about 3'-4' (1m+) tall. It was getting relatively full such that I thought maybe I could trim it like a hedge. Then I got the great idea of trimming it into the shape of a frog 🐸! This sounded like a good idea to me but my wife was not so sure. After the first shape trimming, it looked like something, but not a frog yet. The next spring was when I got the big surprise! It has blossomed before but just a few. Then it suddenly was covered with small blossoms. And when they were finished, it exploded into a massive tiny cotton puffs flying everywhere! Visualize thousands of tiny dandelions with their puffs flying and landing all over the yard, street and anywhere else it could go! Within a few days there was only a stump left. And soon that was gone too! Note: I think the ID is correct...
