Hope I / 3 - The Camellia A walk around the property became a monumental achievement yesterday, one I was not aware of until it had passed. Beginning outside my bedroom window, the camellia “tree” has put out its first blooms of the year, and there is a great number of flowers open. (Last year there was one bloom open with hundreds of buds, most of them never making the bloom.) For this photo I had to raise both arms to hold the phone and snap the shot, an act I did without thinking. Later it occurred to me I had not been able to raise my right arm without aid since the stroke last May.
