Foxtail barley (Hordeum jubatum)

In a triumph of irony Hordeum jubatum, Squirrel tail grass, is sprouting from seed and growing, ignoring the fact that it sits on a drying machine in an outdoor utility room. It doesn’t matter, it continues to thrive: it is, after all, a squirrel… Just a guess: How many of you would have thought last year that I would plant ornamental grasses with the name ‘Squirrel Tail’? Yeah, me either.
