Description
Kurzia makinoana occurs on well-shaded, rotten wood and humic soil at low elevations, especially on stream terraces, floodplains and other cool, moist forest locations sometimes exceeding the width of Riparian Reserves. It is reported from wetlands in other portions of its range. In Washington, it is closely associated with old-growth forests, particularly near riparian areas.
