Description
Longflower moss (Nowellia curvifolia) is a leaf moss described first by James Jacobus J. Dickson, and now became known as William Mitten. Long-legged moss is included in the genus Nowellia and the Cephaloziaceae family. According to the Finnish Red List, the species is closely threatened in Finland. The species is reproducing in Sweden. The habitat of the species is healthy and lingering natural moons. No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life. Including found as epiphytic corticolous mainly on dead wood and wet, and sometimes on the bark of trees standing on the sides where the water runs 1 . The leaves, about 0.3 mm long , in the shape of an elongated, pointed, curved, pointed drop, have a color ranging from green (when young) to reddish-brown. The leaves have a shape similar to those of Cephalozia bicuspidata , but the latter does not take on a reddish color
