Pimelea flava (Pimelea flava)
Description
Pimelea flava is a shrub in the family Thymelaeaceae which is endemic to Australia. There are two subspecies, P. flava subsp. flava (yellow rice-flower) is a shrub which grows up to 2 metres in height and has leaves that are 2 to 10 mm long and 1 to 6 mm wide. The yellow inflorescences have 2 to 4 green bracts which are larger than the leaves. The other subspecies, P. flava subsp. dichotoma (diosma rice-flower) grows to 1 metre high and has white flowers and leathery leaves.
