The juice, the grated skin and whole cooked fruits are used as soap and shampoo. The dried and stamped leaves of the plant are used as a condiment. The papeda is cultivated in Southeast Asia , Mauritius and Sri Lanka . In the Netherlands, this fruit gains recognition under the (erroneous) name "Thai lemon" by Dubbelfrisss Melon & Thai Lemon. In the Netherlands the fruit is sold in Indian and Chinese supermarkets under the name "djeroek lime" and the leaves as "djeroek poeroet". In Belgium the fruit is known as "wild lime".
