Description

Terrestrial herb, to 30 cm high.Leaf to 30 cm long.Inflorescence up to 80-flowered, densely crowded to congested. Flowers opening wide, greenish with deep purple to prune stripes and blotches or wholly purplish. Dorsal sepal ovate, to 5 mm long. Lateral sepals to 5 mm long, free to base and widely spreading, the tips glandular-papillose. Lateral petals narrow-oblong, to 5 mm long. Labellum to 2 mm long and 3 mm wide, cordate when flattened; in living flowers the upper half of the lamina recurved but not protruding long between the lateral sepals. Callus plate usually with purple to prune splotches, extending almost to tip of lamina with fringed to pimply margins. Column wings lanceolate, minutely lobed; rostellum higher than wings.
