Description

Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Leewards, Puerto Rico, Windwards, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in rain to cloud forests at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters as a small sized, caespitose, unifoliate, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a very short, terete ramicaul carrying a single apical, narrowly oblanceolate, apically tridentate leaf with a channeled petiole and 3 imbricate basal sheaths that blooms with a single, capillary, fractiflex, to 4" [10 cm] long, distichously laxly several flowered, racemose inflorescence that is much longer than the leaf with several, basal, imbricate, papery bracts and minute floral bracts occuring in the spring and summer.
