Description

Acianthera miqueliana is an orchid species first described by Hendrik Charles Focke,and is now known as Alec M.Pridgeon and Mark W. Chase.Acianthera miqueliana is included in the genus Acianthera and the family orchids. It is found in humid forests at elevations of 100 to 200 meters as a creeping plant, small in size and epiphytic, with a cylindrical stem of erect, thin growth wrapped by 2 to 3 tubular pods and carrying a single erect leaf, apical, to suberect, leathery, light green, narrowly ovate, sharp, cuneate down at the sessile base. It blooms in the autumn in an inflorescence that emerges through a spathe at the base of the leaf.
