Yellow jasmine (Chrysojasminum fruticans)
Description
Jasminum fruticans , woody jasmine , or yellow jasmine 2 or summer jasmine 3 is a sub-shrub of the family Oleaceae . It is one of the rare jasmine growing spontaneously in France, where it is found mainly in the Mediterranean region. It blooms in spring and early summer on dry, sunny, often rocky soils, with a slight preference for limestone. It is cultivated in dry ground, for its ornamental qualities. Shrub or bushy sub-shrub, 1 to 2 meters high, 5 with quadrangular-angular, brittle, green and glabrous stems and twigs 3 . The leaves alternate , stalked are generally trifolioliées , each of the 3 leaflets oblong or obovate , shiny; Terminal leaflet is 0.5-3 x 0.2-1.5 cm and the side are slightly smaller 5 . Leaves are evergreen or in regions with semi-persistent cold winters 2 . The inflorescence thyrsoid 6 (3-5 flowers) appears in the axils of the leaves and at the ends of the branches. The flower has a calyx short, green, tubulé five long, narrow teeth. The long-tube yellow corolla (8-15 mm ) is terminated by five slightly reflected lobes. By a deviation of the common path of flower formation, the pentamery of the calyx and corolla is associated with two stamens and two carpels.
