Description
It is a herbaceous or somewhat woody plant in the base ( sofr-tice ), erect that reaches a size of up to 1 m in height. Its stem is erect, simple or branched, with stellate hairs, fibrous and difficult to break. The leaves are alternate, ovate or lanceolate, 2 to 8 cm long, toothed, pointed or blunt at the apex . The inflorescences appear as solitary flowers in the armpits of the leaves, on short peduncles ; Calico with 3 linear bractolas or narrowly spatulate, shorter than the calyx. Flowers with 5 yellow or orange petals. The fruit is flattened, 6 to 7 mm in diameter, surrounded by the persistent calyx, in the maturity fragments in 10 to 12 partial fruit (the mericarpios ) with a single seed, this has no hairs.
