Description
Pacari lafoensia or foxglove , is a species of plant belonging to the Lythraceae family. It is native to Brazil and Paraguay . It is in danger of extinction due to the threat to its conservation in the substitution of the cerrado vegetation for agricultural production. They are trees of small to medium size, which have very colorful flowers and fruits. The fruit looks like a thimble , hence its name. Distribution and habitat It is located in the Cerrado in the states of Bahia , Federal District , Goiás , Mato Grosso , Minas Gerais , Rio de Janeiro , Rondônia , São Paulo and Tocantins . It is also found in Paraguay .
