Description
Diapensia is a plant kind from the family of Diapensiaceae . It comprises four types . Diapensia are upright, compact small shrubs, the stems are slender and strongly branched, the leaves are short-stemmed and all-round. The flowers stand apart and at the end of small branches or approximately sitting, the inflorescences are lengthened after the bloom and of a bloom-like form. The calyx has two or three leaves , the crown is bell-shaped, five-lobed, and descending after flowering. The stamens are fused at the base of the crown , the dust bags are two-fold, staminodes are absent or are only rudimentary. The ovary is round and dreif-chrig, the pen upright and filiform, the scar whole, provided with a head or weakly trilobed. The fruit is a triple- capsule , elliptical to roundish, covered by the permanent cup.
