Tylecodon schaeferianus (Tylecodon schaeferianus)
Description
Tylecodon schaeferianus is a plant of the genus Tylecodon in the family of Crassulaceae (Crassulaceae).Tylecodon schaeferianus grows as a very small and much branched, spreading plant with several, intersecting shoots and thus forms small pads. The shoots spring from a gray, up to 10 centimeters in diameter reaching tuber with fluffy bark. The spreading and ascending shoots sometimes form aerial roots, becoming 2 to 5 mm in diameter. The irregular gray-brown bark looks knobby due to the isolated phyllopodia. The obovate and elliptical to circular leaves are 5 to 15 millimeters long and 6 to 12 millimeters thick. They are a little dorsiventral compressed and at the blunt tip they have a reddish, patched tip.
