Green duncecap (Orostachys malacophylla)
Description
Orostachys malacophylla is a perennial plantthat has the leaves in a rosette of 4-15 cm in diameter; rosette leaves oblong, oblong-lanceolate, obovate or elliptical, 1.5-7 × 1-3 cm, with entire margin, apex obtuse to shortly acuminate, absent apical vertebral column. The leaves of the stem of 7 cm, usually longer than the leaves in the rosette, obtuse apex. Inflorescence racemosa or, sometimes spiked and branched, dense, 10-30 cm; bracts spatulate-ovate. Flowers, often, sessile. Sepals oblong, 3-4 mm, acute apex. Petals white or greenish, oblong to ovate-oblong, 4-6 mm, connate base for 1-1.4 mm. Stamens longer than the petals; yellow anthers. Ovoid carpels 4.5 mm, sharpened towards both ends. Styles of 1 mm. Ovoid-oblong seeds, longitudinally striated. Fl. July, fr. August September.
