Dunce’s cap (Orostachys fimbriata)
Description
Orostachys fimbriata is certainly one of the most unique members of the genus Оrostachys. The leaves are brownish-to-orange, covered with a haze of glaucous gray. The soft, fleshy rosettes offset slowly making an eye-catching small clump for the rock garden. In September, the rosettes appear to be erupting like a miniature volcano. The top of the “volcano cone” is actually a flower spike that is adorned with small white star-shaped flowers.
