Description
Valerianella coronata is a species of plant belonging to the Valerianaceae family . As Valerianella discoid but with the inflorescence often globose and the chalice regular and distinctly hexalobulated; cup of the glabra calyx inside. It has stems up to 40 cm in height. The lower leaves of up to 30 x 4 mm, narrowly spatulate to obovate, obtuse, whole or serrated; the upper ones up to 40 x 12 mm, linear-lanceolate, with lower part pinnatisecta. The flowers in dense tops. Setose bracts . Corolla1.4-1.8 mm, pale blue-violet, lanceolate or ovate, linear. Fruits of 2.5 mm, closely ovoid, with sterile cavities smaller than the fertile cavity and separated by a groove ovate and shallow. Persistent chalice, glabrous on the inside; limb with 6 subequal teeth and patents, each with an uncinated edge. It blooms from March to May. (V. pumila) Stems up to 10 cm. Setose leaves; the lower ones of up to 10 x 2 mm, spatulate, whole or dentate, obtuse; the caulinares oblong or linear, whole or slightly sinuate jagged, obtuse. Flowers in dense tops. External bracts closely ovate, obtuse, ciliated. Corolla of c 0,5 mm. Fruits of c. 1.5 mm, ovoid, with sterile cavities larger than the fertile cavity, separated by a verynarrow groove, puberulent. Persistent chalice reduced to a tooth of c. 0.5 mm. It blooms in March.1
