Neoregelia (Neoregelia compacta)
Description
Is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Bromeliaceae , subfamily Bromelioideae. Neoregelia compacta is a species in the genus Neoregelia. This species is endemic to Brazil. They are plants with broad leaves . The inflorescences are formed in a depression in the center of the plant that forms a receptacle to collect water. The leaves surrounding the inflorescences are very bright and colored. Species of Neoregelia are cultivated as an ornamental plant for their colorful foliage.
