Description
Bowlesia is a genus of flowering plant in the Apiaceae, with about 15 species. They are annual or perennial herbs, delicate, with branched hairs, without fibrous remains at the base. Opposite or alternating leaves, palmatilobadas, generally cordiform at the base, petiolate - specilizing sheaths, forming scarlet stipules linear or lanceolate, ± lacerated. Umbels simple, subcompactas, paucifloras, axillary, inconspicuous, with usually very short radii. Bract them scanty, scarious, lacerated. Petals whitish, yellowish or purple. Chalice with scarious teeth or without them, of the same consistency as bracts and stipules. Gineceo without carpóforo, con estilopodio conical; short styles. Widely ovoid fruit; mericarps slightly compressed dorsally, with commissural convex or flat face; inconspicuous ribs and vitas.
