Description
The Atriplex prostrata is an annual halophyte species of the Amaranthaceae family . It is an annual plant , which reaches a size of up to 120 cm in height, glabrous or partially farinaceous. Stems from erect to prostrate, with greenish-white streaks. The leaves of 1-8 × 0,7-8 cm, generally scattered, sometimes opposite, all petiolate, the lower and middle up or triangular, truncated or subcordate base, with lateral lobes directed towards the leaf base or towards the sides -Not towards the apex-; the upper ones usually ovate-lanceolate, all ± farinaceous. Inflorescence paniculiforme, sharpens. Bractéolas fruitful sessile, herbaceous , rhombic to rhombic-elliptical, free, only soldered at the base, often tuberculated on the back. Seeds1-1.2 × 1-2 mm; oblique to vertical radicle. It has a chromosome number of 2n = 18, 36 *; n = 9
