Description
The plants are small and perennial that grow scarcely branched and compact.They reach a size of up to 3 centimeters in diameter and up to 5 centimeters in height.They consist of a pair of two paired leaves.The first pair of leaves are semi-spherical,fused together completely,forming a 1-4 mm body,which folds during the period of inactivity as a rigid cup-shaped shell.The second pair fuses at the base or a quarter or half from one to the other,forming a V-shaped,reddish-shaped body.The flowers are individual,usually appear from the second pair of leaves on the surface and reach a diameter of up to 30 millimeters.It has six (rarely seven) sepals available.The two exteriors are opposite,the remaining are arranged in a spiral.The white petals at the base and purple at the tips,surround four to fifty-six filamentous staminodes.The outer staminodes are dark purple to black,the interior white.In its native land,the flowering time is during the months of June to September.The flowers open from noon and close at night.The fruits reach a diameter of 4 to 13 mm.Pear-shaped seeds are whitish or brown in color,from 0.32 to 0.52 mm long and 0.21 to 0.38 mm wide.The flowers open from noon and close at night.The fruits reach a diameter of 4 to 13 mm.Pear-shaped seeds are whitish or brown in color,from 0.32 to 0.52 mm long and 0.21 to 0.38 mm wide.The flowers open from noon and close at night.The fruits reach a diameter of 4 to 13 mm.Pear-shaped seeds are whitish or brown in color,from 0.32 to 0.52 mm long and 0.21 to 0.38 mm wide.
