Description
It reaches 8 m high (rarely 12 m),prickly,globose.Persistent foliage,dark green;quadrangular twigs,and two spines per knot.Leaves simple,opposite,elliptic to obovate,dentate or whole,5-11 cm long;acute apex,cuneate base;petiole of 9-12 mm long.Flowers in spikes,cylindrical,tubular,yellowish,very fragrant;blooming in spring.Red drupe fruit,spherical,7-9 mm in diameter;fructifica in autumn.
