Description
Camellia x vernalis is a species in the genus Camellia which contains approximately 277 to 330 species and belongs to the family of the Theaceae (Tea Family). The shrubs reach heights of 2 to 5 metres. Camellia x vernalis is evergreen. The green, simple leaves are alternate. They are elliptic, serrulate and petiolate. Camellia x vernalis produces solitary rosette flowers from February to March. The shrubs produce loculicidal capsules. The shrubs prefer a half-shady situation on moist soil. The substrate should be sandy loam.
