Description
Camellia petelotii grows as an evergreen shrub or tree and reaches stature heights of rarely 1.5 to, usually 2 to 5 meters. The bark of young branches is greyish-brown, in the second year it becomes purplish-brown and 2 to 3 mm thick and hairless.The alternate arranged on the branches leaves are divided petiole and leaf blade. The bare petiole is 1 to 2 inches long. The simple leathery leaf blade is elliptic at a length of 9 to 18, rarely up to 23 centimeters and a width of 3 to 6, rarely up to 7.5 centimeters. The leaf top is shiny dark green and the leaf underside is light green with brown spots.
