Brunfelsia uniflora is a plant speciesof the family Solanaceae . This plant with shrub tendency is native to South America. It is used as an ornamental plant. Brunfelsia uniflora is a 0.5 to 3 m high shrub that often branches heavily just above the base. The branches are confused splayed, slender, turning, at age they become somewhat gnarled and glabrous. The bark is greyish brown and shiny. The young branches are slim and glabrous or finely hairy. The leaves are distributed on the branches, they also vary greatly on a plant in size and shape. The petiole is 1 to 5 mm long and may be hairy. The leaf blade is between 2.5 and 8.0 cm long and between 1.0 and 4.0 cm wide. The shape is oblong-elliptic, lanceolate or reversed egg-shaped. Toward the tip, the leaves are tapered or pointed, at the base they are narrowed or wedge-shaped. The upper side is dark to light green colored, the underside is lighter and noticeably dull. The leaves are either slightly glandular hairy or on the underside along the veins different hairy or completely hairless, they are membranous to almost leathery. On each side of the midrib spring five to eight lateral veins, which may be straight or curved.
