Description
Sideroxylon cubense is a much branched, evergreen shrub or a small tree; it can grow up to 10 metres tall[599].The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood.This species has a very narrow range, restricted to a small area in Cuba. Overexploitation of its timber has caused population decline. Overcutting and clearing are constant threats to the habitat. The plant is classified as 'Vulnerable' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2013)
