Description
The cross grass of Linosa ( Valiantia calva Brullo ) is a herbaceous plant of the Rubiaceae family , endemic to the island of Linosa . It is a 2-10 cm tall, gracile plant with a prostrate-ascending habit. It has spatulate leaves (1-2 x 2-4 mm), glabrous. The flowers are white, small (1-2 mm), with 3 very short croissants at the apex. Valantia is a genus of flowering plants in the Rubiaceae family. The genus is found from Macaronesia to western Asia and northeastern tropical Africa.
