Description

Dionysia is a genus containing 49 species of flowering plants in the family Primulaceae. They are small, cushion-forming alpines native to mountains in central Asia. They are usually evergreen perennials with felted leaves, covered with bright yellow or pink, five-petalled flowers in spring. They are often difficult to cultivate if the correct conditions are not provided. Dionysia zetterlundii is a vive plant species described in 2007 by Magnus Lidén . Dionysia zetterlundii is a part of the dionysoviva genus that is part of the family of vive plants . No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life . Dionysia zetterlundii grows in Iran and the first sample was collected in 2002 in the Zagros Mountains (Bachtiari Charee pass to Bazoft valley) 2700 meters above sea level. Dionysia zetterlundii is named after Lidén's colleague Henrik Zetterlund .
