Ogden'S Pondweed (Potamogeton ogdenii)
Description
Ogden's pondweed is an extremely restricted-endemic-native-to small parts of New England, New York and Canada. There are just a handful of populations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont. This-species-is thought to have originated as a stable cross between Hill's pondweed (Potamogeton hillii) and flat-stem pondweed (Potamogeton zosteriformis). It inhabits alkaline waters of lakes and ponds. Eutrophication is likely the greatest threat to this-endangered-species.
