Description
Rumex bucephalophorus is a species of the family of Polygonaceae . Plant very variable, usually annual , erect, up to 40 cm in height. Stem single or divided into several, usually unbranched. Alternating leaves , the lower leaves up to 2 cm long, oval or lanceolate with ocrea . Flowers small hermaphrodite or female, in groups of 2-3 in the axils of leaves. Peduncle thin and round or wide and flat. 6 green perivian leaves in 2 circles, the outer ones small and then curved, the internal ones with hook-like appendages, enlarged in the fruiting period and surrounding the walnut. 6 stamens , pistil with 3 large stigmas .
