Description
Ehrharta is a genus of herbaceous plants belonging to the family of the Poaceae. It is native tosouthern Africa and tropical regions, Mascarene Islands, New Zealand, Philippines, Java to Australasia. They are perennial plants. Spikelets with 3 flowers; the lower 2 reduced to the motto; the superior hermaphrodite , not articulated with the rickets, detaching together in maturity. Glumes almost as long as flowers, subequal, with 7 nerves. Motto coriácea, mutico. Palea uninvaded, keeled, membranous. Androceo with 6 stamens. Caryopsis with embryo 1/3 of its length.
