Description
Neostapfia , is a monotypic genus of herbaceous plantsbelonging to the family of the Poaceae . Its only species : Neostapfia colusana ( Burtt Davy ) Burtt Davy, is native to the southwestern United States. It is an annual slimy plant; with ascending reeds of the decumbent base. Culms 7-30 cm tall; herbaceous not branched above. Culm with glabrous nodes. Internudos of the solid culms. Unarmed plants. The shoots of aromatic leaves not aggregated basally; it is not clearly differentiated in pods and sheets; arranged in a spiral (apparently, in the material seen); not auriculated.
