Description
Plant generally pluricaule. Leaves of the rosette of 25-70 × 5-15 mm, shorter and narrower; petiole 1-2 mm wide. Escapo15-65 cm, smaller and more graceful. First-order branches more graceful and somewhat longer, with less branching angle. Spikes 10-18 mm, in more dense arrangement. Spikelets 5-7 mm, smaller, more densely arranged, 6-8 per cm, generally unifloras. External bract 0.9-1.4 × 1.5-1.6 mm, triangular-ovate. Bract half 1.2-1.7 × 1.1-1.4 mm, oblong to elliptical. Internal bract 2.6-3.8 × 2.2-2.9 mm, obovate to elliptical, with rounded apex; central part 2,6-3,4 × 1,7-2,4 mm, from obovate to elliptical. Flowers 6.5-8 mm in diameter. Calyx 4.8-6.2 mm, smaller, exceeding c. 2.5 mm to the internal bract, usually glabrous; limb whole or with small triangular-ovate teeth; ribs that end before the base of the teeth. Petals 7.5-10 × 1.9-2.6 mm, smaller, purple. It has a number of chromosomes2n = 18
