Epidendrum marmoratum (Epidendrum marmoratum)
Description
It is a small orchid that grows epiphyte on the trees of the tropical forest. E. marmoratum presents cylindrical pseudobulbs thinned at the extremities, of a green color infused with red and violet, which lead to the apex some large coriaceous leaves of ovate-elliptic shape with a slightly acute apex. Flowering normally occurs in spring by means of a terminal inflorescence derived from the mature, racemose arcuate, densely flowered pseudobulb with flowers that open later. The flowers are 3 cm on average, long lasting, with petals andsepals in elliptical ovate form, white-spotted purple-red and bilobed labellum mottled with purple red
