Description
Disa graminifolia, plant 1–2 ft. high; stem slender; leaves radical, 4–6, narrowly linear, acute, usually recurved above, 8–12 in. long; scapes 1–2 ft. high, with several narrow acuminate sheaths; spikes 2–6 in. long, 2–7-flowered; bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 4–8 in. long; pedicels 6–8 lin. long; flowers large, bright blue, with the apex of the petals green, and the lip pale blue or white with a purple margin; dorsal sepal galeate, broadly ovate, acute, 7–9 lin. long, mouth broad and open; spur broadly conical below, upper part abruptly narrowed, oblong, obtuse, about 1 1/2 lin. long; lateral sepals ovate-oblong, subobtuse, 6–7 lin. long; petals abruptly bent nearly at a right angle above the middle, about 5 lin. long, dilated at the base in front into a rounded auricle, apex rounded and cuneate; lip elliptic-oblong, obtuse, 6 lin. long, margin slightly undulate, entire; column broad, about 2 lin. long; anther reflexed; rostellum erect, 3-fid, with linear lobes; stigma pulvinate.
