Bulbed snake orchid (Cymbidium madidum)
Description
The Northern Cymbidium (Cymbidium madidum) is a species of plant in the Orchidaceae family, also known as the Buttercup Orchid and Moist Forest Cymbidium. Australian aborigines and early European settlers used pseudobulbs of Cymbidium madidum for dysentery and its seeds were used as an oral contraceptive.
