Cymbidium kanran (Cymbidium kanran)
Description
It is a medium-large orchid, with terrestrial ( geophytic ) behavior. C. kanran presents pseudobulbs thick, strictly ovata shape, wrapped at the base by rough sheaths, which lead from 3 to 5 leaves arched shape from linear to linear-elliptical, at an acute apex, with serrated margins, shiny dark green color. Flowering occurs normally in winter , by means of a inflorescence baseline, racemosa, long up to 50 centimeters carrying some flowers. These are glittering, large 5 to 8 centimeters, scented and have very long lanceolate sepals in color from green to red, petalsmuch smaller than the sepals and labyrinth trilobated to raised lobes of white-yellow color spotted in dark red.
