Description
Kunzea eriocalyx is a flowering plant in the myrtle family,Myrtaceae and is endemic to a small area on the south coast of Western Australia.The shrub or tree typically has many branches and grows to a height of 0.5 to 1 metre (2 to 3 ft).It blooms between August and October producing pink flowers.Often found among rocky outcrops of quartzite in a small area on the coast at the boundary of the Great Southern and Goldfields-Esperance regions of Western Australia centred around the Fitzgerald River National Park where it grows in sandy clay soils of laterite.The species was first formally described by the botanist Ferdinand von Mueller in 1860 in the work Fragmenta Phytographiae Australiae.[
