Description
Eugenia sanjuanensis is a species of plant belonging to the Myrtaceae family. They are usually shrubs, which reach a size of 2-4 m tall; with glabrous twigs. Leaves oblong-elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, 23.5-35.8 cm long and 6-11 cm wide, acute apex, base usually subauriculate, sometimes rounded, glabrous. Unknown flowers, but the axes of the infructescence are not elongated so that the 4-6 fruits appear arranged in umbelliform groups, pedicel 7-10 mm long, densely reddish-brown tomentose, bractéolas separated, densely brown-red tomentose; wolves of the cavity ovate-deltoides or elliptic-deltoid, 3-5 mm long, densely tomentose. Oblong-elliptic fruits, 12-25 mm long. It is a rare species, found in riparian places, in the south of the Atlantic zone; at an altitude of 50-70 meters in Nicaragua and Panama
