Curly Mallee (Eucalyptus gillii)

Description

Eucalyptus gillii, known as the Curly Mallee and the Arkaroola Mallee is a rarely seen desert plant of inland Australia. In New South Wales, it is found in sandy areas in association with the Mulga near Broken Hill. In South Australia it grows in arid regions such as near Lake Frome.It was officially described by Joseph Maiden in 1912.It may grow to eight metres tall, in the form of a tree, but is also seen as a multi-stemmed mallee.
