Description

Leaves simple or palmatilobadas, acute, acuminate or obtuse at the apex, truncated or subcordadas at the base, serrated or crenate, generally pubescent. Inflorescences brachial, axillary or terminal heads, bracts widely chordate-ovate, at the base with prominent nerves often alternating with whitish areas, in other green, sessile parts; Absent calyx (except M. radiata ); Small chalice, 5-lobed; Corolla white, yellow or lilac. Fruits schizocarpic, glabrous, carpidios 5, smooth; Seeds 1 per carpidio, glabrous.
