Subspecies- Fritillaria crassifolia subsp. crassifolia - Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon - Fritillaria crassifolia subsp. hakkarensis Rix - Iraq, Turkey - Fritillaria crassifolia subsp. poluninii Rix - Iraq formerly included- Fritillaria crassifolia subsp. kurdica (Boiss. & Noë) Rix, now called Fritillaria kurdica
