Description
Marubio ( Marrubium L.) is a genus of perennials of the family of Lamiaceae . The kinds reach a height up to 50 cm. According to some taxonomists to marubio belongs approx. 40 kinds. They are domestic in Asia and Europe on land with an average climate. A typical species is Marrubium vulgare L. The Latin scientific name of the genus comes from the Hebrew word marob , which means bitter (bitter) juice, because before plants of this species were eaten by Jews during Pesa-o.
