Description
Spuria Iris is a species of the family of the Iridaceae. Flowers blue, violet or whitish, from 2 to 4 in stem of 20-90 cm, with several leaves . External petals of 3-8 cm with elliptic to rounded lamina and longer nail; internal petals 3-6 cm, tightly obovate; green spathe , up to 8 cm. Basal leaves up to 2 cm wide, with a strong smell. Ovary with narrow beak. Species very variable. It blooms in spring. Austria , Greece , Spain , Great Britain , Denmark , France , Germany , Czech Republic , Finland , Sweden , Hungary , Poland , Romania . Introduced in Italy . Vegeta in acequias and humid fields.
