Description
Goodenia is a genus consisting of 179 species 2 of flowering plants belonging to the family Goodeniaceae . It comprises 285described species and of these, only 201 accepted. Only G. konigsbergeri is not produced in Australia , but it is endemic in Java . G. armstrongiana, G. purpurascens and G. pumilio are distributed in New Guinea . G. pilosa extends to Indonesia , southern China and the Philippines . All other species are endemic to Australia . They are found in all states, even in arid and semi-arid areas.
