Episcia plant (Alsobia dianthiflora)
Description
Alsobia dianthiflora Lace Flower, also known as the Lace Flower Vine is a member of the Gesneriad family originally native from Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru and Brazil. Prized for its unique blooms with lacy, shredded petal edges, this small vining plant does great in a hanging basket, tall pots, or also adapts indoors as a house plant in bright light where it will produce many long stolons/vines that will trail and hang over. These vines can grow up to 3 feet long with the plant reaching about 8. As with most Gesneriads, it should be watered at the base to avoid standing water on its fuzzy leaves or blossoms. Overall, this plant has gained its popularity due to its steady production of blooms and ease of care.
